What is a Dimple?

Usually, the facial skin on the forehead,
or areas around the eyes or nose,
unless there is deep crease of nasolabial
fold, are smooth and flat. But sometimes small
depression on the flesh appears when making
an expression like a smile or a frown.
Dimple refers to these small dents that shows
up when moving facial muscles to make an expression which
usually can be seen on cheeks or around the mouth.

Ideal location of dimples is the intersection.

and the line below the pupils meet. However,
the ideal location may vary according
to individual’s face and overall appearance.

Surgical Method of Dimple Creation

After 5mm of incision inside mouth, tissue
is partially removed to create a dimple suing absorbing
suture for patient’s convenience.

1. Soft diet and use of gargle

2. You must avoid drinking and smoking
for 2-3 weeks after surgery.

3. You must avoid rubbing or pulling your skin
skin for 1 month during facial wash or daily life.
