Breast implant revision is for individuals
who are not satisfied with the results after breast augmentation,
experiencing capsular contracture,
and for those with droopiness caused by aging process.
Revisional surgery requires much
more delicate techniques than initial surgery
that choosing a medical specialist
for breast surgery is crucial.
01
When previous implant size is not suitable
for current height or body type,
or desirable size of breast has been changed with trend,
breast implant revision is often considered.
Replace previous implant with
another implant in a desirable size.
There needs to be enough time space between
initial operation and revision.
02
When implants are not properly inserted,
it causes upper part of the breasts to be bulging,
yet lower part to flatten. Also, asymmetry of breasts
and natural appearance of breasts
after initial surgery often require revision.
Detach or remove previous implants from initial insertion,
then insert them into proper location.
03
Although leakage of implant materials is very rare, individuals with such condition must consider revision.
Plan for RevisionRemove previous silicone gel/saline bag
and insert new implants to proper location.
04
Capsular contracture occurs
when scar tissue forms around the implant,
resulting in painful breast stiffness.
Capsular contracture can be considered as normal reaction,
but for severe condition,
possible bleeding and infection can result.
Replace previous implants with contracted
tissue using an incision on areola
or underside fold of breast.
