Anterior Segmental Osteotomy
A set of molars behind canine teeth are removed to make a space for the whole structure of alveolar bone and teeth to be pushed in.
01. Small molars behind canine teeth are removed.
02. Alveolar bone is resected through a 2-3cm intraoral incision.
03. Alveolar bone with teeth is pushed into the space where teeth were removed.
04. Procedures are followed by 6-12 months of postoperative orthodontic treatment if needed..

Surgery can only be performed on patients with proper teeth occlusion.

Ideal results are only possible when length of protrusion is roughly identical to the width of the space created by teeth removal.

There is a danger of teeth being pushed in too far if the original level of protrusion was mild.

Two Jaw Surgery
Two Jaw Surgery involves osteotomy of both upper jaw (maxilla) and lower jaw (mandible) to reposition them. Rough edges are smoothened out and reattached in their newly repositioned place with proper fixation.

Three Jaw Surgery
It is a combined procedure of Anterior Segmental Osteotomy and Two Jaw Surgery, performed when a severe case of protruding mouth with receding chin requires alveolar bone, teeth and both of jaws to be repositioned simultaneously. Three jaw surgery is a highly complex operation, recommended to be performed by experienced surgeons only.
