Forehead contouring with Implant Insertion

It is a surgical method of adding volume to the forehead by inserting a silicone implant which is customized to fit each individual’s forehead shape.

■ Implant Production

Implants are custom-made at least 6 days prior to surgery through sterilizing process. Not only pre-order in advance is needed, but disinfection is required as well.


■ Surgical Method of Forehead Contouring using Implant Insertion

01. Surgery is performed under I/V Sedation and Local Anesthesia.
02. Implant location is marked.
03. 2-3cm incision is made above the forehead hairline.
04. Incisional scar for implant insertion is easily removed.
05. Insert the implant.

■ Recovery and Care after Surgery

01. Compressive bandage is to be worn for 2-3 days after surgery.
02. Severe swelling appears 2-4 days after sugary for which an ice pack needs to be applied.
03. It is advised to avoid any tension on facial muscles until the implant is fixed in place.
04. After 7-10 days, stitches can be removed and daily activities such as washing hair may be undertaken.
05. Swelling mostly subsides after 2 weeks with the forehead looking natural.
06. Complete recovery with perfectly natural appearance is expected in 2-3 months.
07. Light activities such as office work and walking are available after 1 week from surgery.
08. It is best to avoid tilting head down for a while.
09. Avoiding smoking and drinking alcohol helps fast recovery.

Autologous Fat Graft

It is to harvest fat from body parts where excessive fat is stored such as thighs and hips and graft into your forehead in multiple layers. This method is also known for body contouring effect since the procedure grafts unnecessary fat from your own body. ■ Forehead Contouring by Autologous Fat Graft

01. Fat graft is done under IV Sedation and Local Anesthesia.
02. Fat is harvested through a thin cannula from thigh, abdomen or hip areas.
03. Using a centrifuge, any impurities are filtered out to extract pure fat cells.
04. Fat is evenly grafted in several tissue layers from 1cm above the hairline to eyebrow and nasal bridge.

■ Recovery and Care after Surgery

01. Working and other normal daily activities are allowed after 2~4 days of surgery.
02. Slow absorption of grafted fat begins after 3 weeks and continues for 3 months.
The survived fat without being absorbed is almost kept permanently.
03. Secondary fat grafting procedure can be done after 3 months with the left fat kept frozen.
